About GSM and GPRS Fundamentals
This course gives telecommunications professionals a complete understanding of how GSM evolved into GPRS to support modern mobile data services. It covers the architecture, protocols, and network components that power mobile communication, from the original voice-focused GSM system through to the packet-switched data capabilities of GPRS and beyond.
You'll start with an overview of GSM and GPRS network architecture, then move into GPRS interfaces and SGSN protocol stacks. From there, the course covers GGSN, BSS, and HLR protocol stacks, GPRS management and operation including the transition to EDGE, and finishing with network planning and traffic aspects such as IP address allocation and quality of service.
